A young couple moved into a new neighborhood. The next morning while they are eating breakfast, the young woman sees her neighbor hanging her wash outside. "That laundry is not very clean" she said. She doesn't know how to wash correctly. Perhaps she needs better laundry soap." Her husband looked on, but remained silent. Every time her neighbor would hang her wash to dry...The young woman would always make the same type of comments.
About one month later, the woman was surprised to see nice clean clothes on the neighbor's clothesline! She said to her husband, "Look, the neighbors have finally learned how to wash correctly. I wonder who taught her how?"
The husband replied, "I got up early this morning and cleaned our windows."
I love this story. It reminds us that things aren't always as they appear to be. We can easily get stuck in our thinking and perceptions. Sometimes we don't even know its happening.
Sometimes the "Ultimate Windex" is discovering that we can turn things around with a shift in our mindset. We can change the way we look at things and then everything changes.
That's what I want for you!
I know it has been very challenging this past year for many of you. Life has been extra difficult especially here at the Jersey shore. Recovery has been a very long ongoing process.
With all this in mind, we've created a very special healing event designed to bring the community together and create healing. Hopefully, together we will navigate through these turbulent times and come back stronger than ever.
