“You have a broken wrist” is not what a massage therapist wants to hear! But the good news - time & rest bring healing! Nine weeks and my wrist healed nicely. The orthopedic MD confirmed it’s as good as new. Having use of my right hand again and being back to work feels so good!
BAM, it’s humbling to be broken & feel vulnerable.
Whether it’s physical, mental, emotional or spiritual…
We all wish to be healthy & whole.
This Chinese proverb says it best…
“He who has his health has a thousand dreams,
He who doesn’t has only one.”

I am lucky and blessed to massage with both hands again 🙌 ❤️🙌
It was scary initially being sidelined from work for the first time in 35 years unable to do what I love. But I surrendered 🌟 no longer RESISTING A REST 🌟 and discovered hidden gifts during my unexpected hiatus.
1 - The GIFT of TIME ✨ I was handed a BREAK and quickly realized, this is an OPPORTUNITY and why not make the best of it! If you have a CHANCE to do something - why wait til later? What about all those places I dreamed of going and all the friends and family I wanted to see…I got busy making plans which included visiting my Mom in Florida, a road trip to Davidson NC for a family football game, a couple days at the GREENBRIER in WV and topped it off with two weeks in France.
By the way, the months of September & October have always been my favorite time of year and one the best times to travel…best time for a hiatus!
2 - Things do not necessarily happen for the best, but we can choose to make the best of things that happen. Damn that’s true! I wrestled with so many affirmations trying to find the one that fit and found a few. Some days initially, I had to dig deep to turn this unfortunate situation into a positive. I remembered that our attitude determines our altitude. Thankfully, I broke my wrist at the very end of summer and my TT team was in place. I learned that I was able to step away and rely on my team. They stepped up and it all worked out. I can step away - even leave the country and everything will be okay without me. As a recovering control freak, I realize it’s safe to loosen my grip on the wheel a tad which feels so enlivening. Thank you TEAM TTOUCH! ❤️🙌❤️
3 - The FRENCH know how to LIVE!
Two weeks in France was lovely beyond words. One thing the French have down pat…they create and surround themselves with beauty and they don’t hurry. I practiced savoring and patience everyday. Taking in all the incredible natural beauty, architecture, artistic grandeur and yummy food while simultaneously letting go of feeling rushed was deeply rejuvenating & healing. By the way, mid October is the best time - less crowded and we had Indian Summer weather.
4 - I had a taste of retirement and it confirmed, I’m not ready!
I love nothing more than traveling and adventure but I see myself as a hands on helper for a long time to come. Nine weeks was a long time to be sidelined. I said good bye to yoga on the beach. I missed my work. I missed my clients and I missed my team. I missed massage - and my ZEN time at TT! Hopefully, the future holds lots more adventures and travel but more than anything…I hope the future allows me to STAY HEALTHY and do everything that I love to do!
WISHING the SAME for YOU!
May you have PEACE & HEALTH today & always!
☮️❤️😊Patti
