Winter Solstice is approaching — the shortest day of the year. I always find it a bit ironic that it arrives during one of the busiest times of the year. While we’re rushing, shopping, cooking, and trying to get everything done, nature is doing the opposite.
The earth is resting. Trees are dormant. Things are quiet beneath the surface.
Winter reminds us that this is not a season for pushing harder, but for slowing down. Our bodies feel this too. We need a little more rest, a little more warmth, and a little more care this time of year. When we ignore that and keep going full speed, it often shows up as tension, fatigue, or overwhelm.
As we move past the solstice and the light slowly begins to return, my hope is that you allow yourself moments to pause — even small ones. Listen to your body. Honor what you need. There’s wisdom in rest, and it supports us as we move into the new year.
Wishing you peace, warmth, and good health,
~ Patti
