It was the best of times. It was the worst of times.
That quote from Charles Dickens (Tale of Two Cities) has been at the forefront of my mind throughout 2024. On one hand- it’s been a very wonderful year. I’m healthy. I’m in love. Therapeutic Touch is in our 36th year and smooth sailing with a fabulous team. I enjoyed an incredible adventure in October to Portugal and Spain. Without a doubt, I’m living my best life and very grateful!
AND on the other hand- this past year has been uniquely difficult as my entire family navigates and rallies around my 91 year old MOM who’s gradually moved into the slow lane. I spent the week before Thanksgiving visiting her in Florida. She’s been one of the lucky ones to live a very long life independently -healthy in both mind and body until recently. As my family navigates these changing times, it’s now our turn to take care of her- spend as much time together and give as much TLC as we possibly can.
My niece Sara was recently visiting and caring for her. She woke one morning and said “I want to visit SANTA today!” She got all dressed up and put on her lipstick as they prepped to see the big guy- reminding us that you’re never too old to pay a visit to see Santa Claus. I wasn’t there but I heard it was a JOY FEST and Christmas MAGIC at the Orlando Millenia Mall as my MOM (aka MUFFY) sat on Santa’s lap whispering her wishes. All I know is this Christmas more than anything I want my MOMs wish to come true.
I hope if life has been challenging for you as well, you’re able to BELIEVE and find the good. And May all your wishes come true!
In the holiday spirit with love,
Patti
